Shailesh Lodha who is known for his long association with popular sitcom Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, decided to depart from the show in 2022 after nearly 14 years. He recently revealed that the show's producer, Asit Kumarr Modi, attempted to exert pressure on him by withholding his payments. In an interview, Lodha also mentioned that the producer had referred to everyone on the show as his 'servants.' The actor, citing 'self-respect' as the only reason that him part ways with the show. He shared in an interview with Lallantop that he had been invited as a celebrity guest for a stand-up show on SAB TV in 2022. However, just a day before the telecast, the producer contacted him and raised objections about his appearance on the show. Shailesh reveals how he found the producer's rude tone as one of the big reason for his departure. He said, 'language that he used was not civil, leaving me infuriated. I shot for it and even recited a poem there." He further adds, "I could not tolerate the way he spoke to me. A show is made by many people coming together and not just one person. I thus mailed him on February 17, 2022 that I would not like to continue with the show." Previously, Shailesh Lodha had raised allegations against Asit Modi and other producers of withholding his unpaid dues. He had taken legal action and approached the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) to resolve the matter. In May, he emerged victorious in the lawsuit concerning the non-payment of dues against the makers of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.
